Bike Fit

No matter why you ride (be it pleasure, fitness, or competition), or how good you might be, a good bike fit is an essential part of cycling. A poor set-up can not only result in decreased enjoyment, but also poor performance and injury.

Using the "Three Pillars of Fit" principle adopted by British Cycling of 'aerodynamics', 'comfort', and 'power', I will help you find the best position for your chosen discipline. These can vary greatly whether you're doing a 10 mile TT, a leisurely ride with the family, or 180km as part of an Ironman, so it's vital to get your set-up right.

What does it involve?
  • You will have a comprehensive screen including your history, your cycling needs, and a physical examination.
  • You will have a dynamic analysis on your bike on a turbo trainer, as well as a detailed assessment of your current set-up including:
    • joint angles
    • knee movement
    • foot position
    • hand & arm position
  • Adjustments will then be made and advice will be given to achieve the best attainable position to combine the Three Pillars
  • A free follow-up session will be available for any fine-tuning required
